Biography

Natalya Kuzmina

Born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, Natalya Kuzmina developed a passion for art at an early age, completing six years of formal art training before earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. After immigrating to Canada, she presented her first solo exhibition in Toronto and went on to exhibit her work in galleries and juried exhibitions across the country. Her paintings have been recognized in national exhibitions and are held in private and corporate collections internationally.

Natalya has been an Elected Member of the Society of Canadian Artists since 2009. Her paintings explore moments of beauty, calm, and presence found in everyday life.

Alongside her painting practice, Natalya has built a parallel career in the Visual Effects industry as a 3D Environment Artist and Digital Matte Painter. Working on award-winning feature films and television productions has deepened her appreciation for storytelling, atmosphere, and visual imagination. Her recent credits include Wednesday 2, Happy Gilmore 2, A Haunting in Venice, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Crimson Peak, The Mandalorian, and Vikings.

Today, Natalya creates oil and mixed media works that celebrate colour, light, and the quiet beauty of the world around us.
